Have you ever read a book or watch a movie and wonder what if the story is written in the prospective of another person. Perhaps the other woman or the best friend or the sister who left with the husband, someone. Well this book just show you that. Written in perspective of Carly and Michelle.

Carly caught Michelle sleeping with Her fiancé two days before her wedding. And Michelle ran off to join the army. A decade later, she came back after being shot in the line of duty. Together they had to work in keeping the inn where Carly and her daughter is staying afloat. With anger, jealousy and unresolved feelings, will they ever patch back to be the bestfriend they were once.

Story about friendship, moving on, forgiveness and trust, two women fight the odds to keep the business going.

We will alternate between these two females and get to see and feel both of their point of view. You can't fault one or the other or choose side in this story as both women are guilty. They suffered so much with parents who should know better. An interesting read to see different side of stories and getting the fact right.

Not many story are like this. So it helps you to sort of reflect on your life. The things you blame others of. Wondering what their story might be. And we should stop judging them first. Really makes you think back and see if you need to patch up and relationship with anyone. Or moving on from a grudge.

Ok it's really not part of the story. But I just like reading books that make me reflect. And seeing both point of views make me do that. I think Susan Mallery is author. I've read some of her past work, but only recently I found that she had written much much more. Can't wait to read them all. Even though most of them are guilty pleasure. Chicklit all the way!

Reading this book is just so close to home. A controlling aunt or person who sort of help you. Keep reminding you and everyone around about it, expect you to be grateful and pay for it your whole life. Like a trained dog just waiting to be called upon, doing duty after duty. Just never ending. A best friend who thinks you are not good enough. Helps you one minute and remind you what a useless person you are. Sounds familiar?
Meet Jayne Scott.

Her mon died when she was in high school. The Wordens, a wealthy family "adopt" her in, hoping to keep their own daughter Rebecca in check.

Rebecca is pissed off at her mother and everything she does is to piss her off. Including going out with her mom ex-affair dude, who end up creating trouble for Rebecca after she humiliated him. But thanks to that, it started the point of her and her mother to start growing closer again. And we can finally see the similarity between these two characters. Horrible, selfish persona. Really remind me of some people I know.

Another character is David, Rebecca's brother. Jayne liked him since the very beginning. And typical story.

I like how the story is written. It's very real and it's pretty short. It goes to the point. And no new surprises. The characters were all mentioned in the beginning. So no sudden new person came into the picture. Which is really nice and well written.
It's funny and witty makes you smile at the subtle jokes between the characters. When they have a hard time being together as a couple, you will feel the pain too. The sex part is juicy enough without it being too much. Giving you with enough info to imagine yourself and not be disgusted by it.

Overall it's a really good book. Good story, bittersweet ending, realistic characters. Really awesome!

While reading this, I have flashbacks and de javu. it was like I've read it before. But I do not remember the storyline. Te more I read the more I am convince that I read te story before.
So I just skim through the book and trying to remember the story. Like every Picoult book, it filled with mystery and wonder. You get to understand different people perspective which is cool.

The story is about a woman whose husband (second husband), a policeman and her daughter was killed by the carpenter. And she was pregnant by the time. The killer was caught with the daughter panties in his pocket. So it was assume that he molested her and her stepdad came to help and he shot them both. In reality, it was never what it seem.
That's why people, nanny cam! Nanny cam is useful to find out what really happen. But of course there is the privacy issue.
Anyway, he was given a death sentence. Years later, her second daughter, Claire had a heart problem. And the killer named Shay wanted to give his heart to her.
So the story journey about Shay being in jail creating some miracles. Like creating water to wine from the pipeline, having extra chewing gum enough for everyone and knowing bible verse even though he said he never read them before.
A jail mate point of view. A priest who was there at Shat trial, the lawyer and of course the mother.
So you get to find out different view point. It is pretty interesting. And you will find out, spoiler here, that Shay was in fact innocent. He caught the cop dad molesting the kid and tried to help her but shots were given out and accidently killed the girl.

But in the plot is mostly bout the right for Shay to have a different type of prosecution other than the one he was suppose to get. Cause they want to save the heart, he needed to die differently.

I sort of like the ending from Claire point of view. It's sweet ending to a chapter and pretty disturbing too. When the dog died and she hug him and he came back to life. Creepy. But it's a part of Shay that is alive.

Oh well, sorry for the jumble up.

I was bored and wanted to read some romance. So, I read some book that has love triangle some sort. This is the first book I pick up. Thought it will be a worthwhile read. It was alright. This is a second book. Well, the main character is the sister of the first book, Lily. In this story Lily married a rock star. In the process of getting a divorce. Her husband cheated on her with some actress.

She ran off to London as she was sick of listening to the cheater song being played all over the radio. She went to stay with an ex, Carter the doctor. They broke up in good term. She still have feelings for him though. He had a problem with ending relationship, so he mostly ignore their calls.

While staying in the apartment, Carter ex Brigid came over and steal her handbag with her passport in it. Well, you will hate Brigid cause she is mental. Lily asked Carter to talk to Brigid so she can get her passport back. In the end Carter get back with her. Brigid tried her best to sabotage and ruin Lily. She want her to leave the place.

Long story short, she get to be with Carter. Brigid fired from her job. And the rest of the character dd what the did and stuff.

At first I love Lily. She's a "bad" person. She prank call her ex husband to be. She kicked him in the nuts and get caught for assault. She's a different characteristic girl than normal female character. She wants money settlement, but of course in the end she just want an apology in US weekly. But at first she is cool. She is normal. Well as normal as people can be. She loves the attention and free clothes she's getting. She doesn't act all good and holy. So she is different. Good different.

Towards the middle of the book, I barely read it. I just skim the story. Pages by pages. Cause I was getting bored and irritated by how the story take place. I still think Brigid need to be hospitalize. She is crazy after all. But ya, I love how the character seems to be at first. But I just lost it.

So I do not think it is such a great book. If it was not for Lily quirkiness, I wouldn't even bother flipping the pages. Would go though the ending and return the book. I do not know if it is the book or the author. I guess it is not for everyone.

Another classic but less dramatic of Picoult. Usually her stories are more cinematic. I will get to involve with some one of the character. But this time I am pretty much neutral. Even though it is pretty irritating to read about someone who get into a new religion. Their lives change 360 degree. I guess it's the same too for those who got into new relationship.

The story is about a mother who is 40 trying to have a child. After 2 miscarriages and lastly a stillborn, her husband wouldn't want another child. So he asked for a divorce. Then she met a friend who helped her through it all. They fell in love and got married.

Her new wife could get pregnant for her. So they asked for the embryos from the clinic. The only way for the clinic to give her the eggs was to have the signature of her ex husband. So she asked for the permission and it lead to a case.

Picoult books always lead to a case. So we always get to read bout a case. Read both points of the story and judge it ourselves. Reminded me of Law and Order the tv series.
Anyway most of the time you read te stories before the court come to be. You get attached to the characters and you want to save them. And you just hope the ending, the odd is with them.

Sing you home really is just a simple book. I never side with anyone. I don't really love the character that much. Never really symphatise with them that much. I am not emotionally attached to this book.

I never think it will be about homosexuality. Never really care. I always thought that he will come into his senses. Maybe the lawyer will be involved. But this time the lawyers are not part of the story. I did think Lucy is the Pastor child. The ending is pretty sweet.

I know this is brief and just a point form kind of review. But I do not want to say about the story. What I really from the book is that different fonts for different characters. So it is easy to differentiate them.

I also did learn it is great being with a girl. There was one or two pages where Zoe was saying about the differences being with a girl. How for sex is always will be foreplay. How girls are generally more attentive and sensitive. But ya basically makes you realize how great it is to be a lesbian. It will be fun.

Mitch Peatwick is a private detective. Mae Sullivan needs one.

Typical story of how they will end up together even though he said he wouldn't want to get married and such. I guess all romantic stories are. It isn't a thick book. Easy pleasure to read. A twist and turn around the corner. As always Crusie loves writing bout older characters. If she never write the age, you probably wouldn't be able to guess the age.

In this story, Mae is 34. She needed to find her uncle's diary to find out where the money went to. She came out with my uncle been murdered to get the P.I to take her case. Mitch had a fantasy and she walked right into it. So he agreed to help her find her uncle murderer.

With twist and turn as I mention earlier. It is not a boring read. Page by page, you learn something new. It is nice how she introduce the lawyer early in the book. Not early maybe middle. But he became a character and not just a mindless person in the book.

I like the plot. I like the story. I like the ending. The unexpected mastermind or masterminds behind it all. It is touching to see what family will do for each other. And of course it is nice to see that the main character is not that poor after all. And no backstabbing or typical plot is involved. So kudos.

The 2nd book of the hunger games trilogy.

I took a shorter time reading  this book than the first one. Even though more new characters were introduced  for the 75th game. Tried to picture the characters, mostly get it wrong.  Haha, apparently i cannot differentiate between male and female  name.

The  story start by how Katniss had to go tour around the districts. She had been hit  with the realization that she will have to be with Peeta to save herself and  Peeta. She still wants Gale though.

I actually like the ending.  Short and sweet. It sort of explained what happened without being long winded.  So it kind of make you feel happy reading the end. It warp up so nicely. And you  know there will be a 3rd book. No matter how devastated the ending is, at least  you know the last book will fix it.

I am saying happy for the ending, the happy reading a whole book kind of way. Not the story or plot is happy way.

I guess there really is nothing to talk about the book. It just taught you a few lessons.
  • There are eyes everywhere.
  • Never fully trust everyone.
  • People will use you whenever possible.
  • Try to help out whenever possible, especially to the less fortunate.
  • It is good to know people and actually listen. You never know what new things you can learn from them.
  • Never forget your roots.

It is part of a trilogy and i first heard it from Tumblr.

Rachel told me that i should read the book first before the movie. "The book is so good," she said. Well, she loves anything bout girls rising to power. Anyway, when the movie came out, i didn't really want to watch it. As i have not read the book. And if i did read, will i just end up disappointing. Don't want that either. 2 weeks have pass since the movie came out in theater, i finally read the book.

It was good.

Details overlapping each other. And thanks to the movie, i can imagine the characters mentioned in the book pretty solid. Usually you just use the description of the characters. This time, i imagine the actors instead. So picturing the people and the place and how the story unfold. Pages by pages, it was more intense by the second. I am talking bout the game itself. Cause that's the only thing that matter. It is the only action happening. I am only engrossed in those chapters.

Nevertheless, i feel the pain of Peeta. Loving a girl from afar. Sad. I like Rue best. Just liked her cause she is young and small. Remind me that you shouldn't underestimate anyone. And her character is just so flow-y like flowers being blown in the wind. I don't know why but that's what she remind me of.

Kalai said that we are playing the hunger game in real life. Instead of actual weapons and physically killing each other, we use it with words and mentally. I couldn't agree more.

We are still living in a society where everyone back stab each other to get on top. I guess it is impossible to stop that. People gossip and such. I do. Even though i bring no harm, just voicing out my anger to trusted friends, it is still consider gossiping. We did say a long time ago in RP year 1, it is not gossiping just a mere discussion if the topic discussed is someone everyone do not like. It doesn't matter. Poor guy still got talked at, even though he may be at fault.

The capitol where people actually enjoy watching people suffer. Remind me of the movie Gamer starring Gerard Butler. Only the latter use criminals not children. Still, people are just sick sometime.

The book show more about politic than just a teenage girl coming of age. It has 12 districts, and its a hierarchy. The capitol rule them and anyone dares to rebel will be punished. So, those living in the bigger number district are suffering, and they have to work the hardest in order to survive. Just like our actual world.

So you should read the book. Watch the movie and compare.

The movie wasn't as great as I thought it will be as what people rave about. But I am discussing the book not the movie. And as always I prefer books as they are just more detailed and can make me more emotionally involved.
